We had our first Family Fun Friday since Noah was born. We took the kids to the Atlanta Aquarium. We had not been since Autumn was really small. She loved it all. Her favorite was the jellyfish. It was a wonderful morning.

So our Christmas baby decided he wanted to be here for Thanksgiving!
Noah Keith Gunter was born November 25 at 1:11 am.
He was 7 pounds and 2 ounces and 19.5 inches long.
He has been a true blessing and gift from the Lord.

Autumn has been a wonderful big sister and is always looking for "babies" as she calls Noah.
She is entranced with the holidays. She has a holiday nativity set and is smitten with Baby
Jesus! It has been a joy to see the enthusiasm in her eyes as we decorate the Christmas tree, set up the nativity sets,
and set up the Christmas village.

A Day in the Life of Autumn at MMO...

One of the biggest blessings for me is MMO at our church. MMO stands for Mother's Morning Out. Autumn loves to go play and I love the break it gives me to run errands, catch up on things at the house, or just have lunch with a friend. The staff at MMO is so loving and takes amazing care of Autumn. She is truly a "princess" while she is there. Last week, Carrie, one of the wonderful ladies who works there was trying out her new camera and took these pictures of Autumn. Oh, how I wish I had the eye to take pictures like this!

Two fun Gunter adventures:
We took Autumn blueberry picking. Blueberries are Autumn's favorite food. She will tell you that she NEEDS blueberries. She picked blueberries for over an hour and had the best time. She knew only to pick the blue ones and ate her weight in them. We had an amazing day. We went to Berry Patch farms which had a fun slide and play area. Some pics:

Our garbage disposal which was the loudest, best-working/would chop up a steel pipe in two churns type of appliance died this past weekend. Keith was wonderful and replaced it but he had a BIG helper :)

4th of July

1st off - apology for not blogging in a LONG time. Somehow I could not log on the way I normally did and had to get Keith to reset the passwords.
So, instead of rehashing the last month, I decided to continue with the present and move on!

2nd - I love July 4th. I loved it as a kid when we had these huge family cookouts, but since then it was a holiday that lost its luster. So I had not truly loved July 4th for a long time until I came to Marietta. I think it gets better every year. We have so many July 4th traditions now. Here are some pictures from the weekend.

On Friday we had our monthly "Family Fun Friday" where we try to find something fun to do around Atlanta. We took Autumn to Centennial Olympic Park to play in the fountains. To say she enjoyed it would be an understatement.

On Saturday morning we went to the Fourth of July parade on the square with our friends Ailena and Chad.

This was the funniest part of the parade. No idea what they represented, but they did a dance routine with lawn chairs. Hilarious!

We ended the day with a picnic dinner with friends and fireworks. Autumn was a little wary of the fireworks at first but then would commentate them by saying AHHHHH.....BOOM! She had the best time.

So Autumn has a fascination with the dishwasher. Now this is a wonderful thing in my eyes. She plays by taking the spoons and forks out and in the dishwasher basket while I clean up meals. Lately though she has started to put the spoons in forks in random drawers and cabinets throughout the house. You never know where you will find a random spoon!

First Face Plant

So Autumn and I were enjoying the first warm weather we have had in a while and she decides to take a faceplant in the driveway. ..so here is the evidence!

On happier notes...we had Family Friday today and took Autumn to the Children's Museum in Atlanta. Here are a few shots. The one of her painting is my personal favorite. She LOVED painting.

Last but not least Autumn has developed a love for alone time. She likes to sit in her room play with her two farm sets and read. I captured her reading today!

Funny Story: So I noticed that something had spilt underneath our sink all on the kitchen towels and dishrags so I threw them all in the washing machine. When it finished I opened it up and foam started pouring out - like what you see in a TV show - all over the floor and seeping into the hallway. The bottle of the refill for the JOY dishwashing liquid had spilt on it. Now if I can only get all the JOY out of the towels and I am praying my brand new washer will still work!

We had two birthday parties for Autumn - one in Moultrie with my family and one at Swift Cantrell Park in Kennesaw with Keith's family and friends. Autumn loved opening presents but wanted nothing to do with the cake!

Almost a Year!

It is hard to believe that Autumn is almost a year old. We almost made it a year without anything more than one cold back in March, but then we hit the end of September. Autumn got strep throat, then she had a week of horrible teething, and then she had a stomach virus this week! I have learned what it means to drop everything for a sick child and change all of your plans.
This weekend Keith had his DiscipleNow retreat which is the retreat that he could not finish last year because I went into labor on Saturday night. It is hard to believe that a year ago this weekend, we had not met Autumn yet! She had totally changed our lives and brought such joy and excitement. We race to her bed every morning to see who gets to see her smile first and play peek-a-boo!

These are from our rainy day family outing to Little Bears Indoor Playground. Keith and I took Autumn there to play one cold, rainy Friday. I love the ones of her and Keith at the table...she was so into the puzzles and toys there. She looks so grown up!

These pictures are from our outing with our friends the Chamberlains to Berry Patch farms to go on a hayride, look at pumpkins, and enjoy the fall festivities. Sam is 2 1/2 years old and he and Autumn are big buddies.

Last but not least, Pam Webb invited us to a Halloween parade for little kids to wear their costumes, walk down Kennesaw Avenue and go do a parade for a nursing home. It was a fun party and Autumn made a cute lion!

Autumn and I went on our first group playdate with some friends from our church. We went to Cagle's Dairy to tour the dairy, go on a hayride, play in the pumpkins and have lunch. Here are some pictures of our day. Autumn was amazing...a real trooper!

Beach Baby

We just got back at the end of this week from 9 days at the beach in Orange Beach, AL. Our friends the Beasleys' were so very kind and let us use their condo. It was a very relaxing and rejuvenating time. We floated around the lazy river pool, ate great seafood, and hung out at the beach. Autumn loved the beach and sand. Here are some pics:

So last weekend we took Autumn on our big youth retreat - Sharptop. She had a blast playing with all of the youth and climbing the seating area in the meeting room. She didn't know what to do when she got home and she went from 220 playmates to 2(me and Keith).

Life is back to as much of a routine that we get around the Gunter household! I'm back tutoring with a record 8 kids and Keith is in all out youth retreat mode! Autumn is glad to have both parents back together for more than a week at a time.

On the Move...

No, we haven't sold our house yet(but would appreciate any prayers for us in that area - we have shown in almost every day this week though!) No the one on the move around here is Autumn. She is crawling like a champ and cruising around the furniture. This adds a whole new dimension to things. She managed to get three bruises in 3 days - one when Keith was watching her, one when I was watching her, and one at Mother's Morning Out at church. She has more guts than talent when it comes to walking so far. She just tends to let go, so I feel like I spend a lot of time behind her waiting for the fall.
Things with us are amazing. I spent 4 wonderful days at the beach with my discipleship group of girls. It was great! Keith is on his last trip of the summer with the senior highs. We are looking forward to a more normal routine as school starts back. I have started back tutoring some already.
Also in July all three of us spent 6 days at my uncles farm in Warner Robins with my extended family. It was a blast hanging out with the cousins, my aunts and uncles, and my grandparents. We hated to see it come to an end. One of the things that I have always loved about my mom's family is how we try to spend lots of time together. Some of my favorite memories growing up are at my "Mema's house" playing with my cousins. I love how close I am to my cousins. I hope that Autumn is able to have that same experience with both sides of our family. Too many people today do not take the time to hang out with their extended family. It is such a blessing to be able to do that. We truly had a "redneck week". We shot guns, swam, played badmitton, made a mudpit and dropped into it from a rope swing, and much more. Many of the pictures below are from the trip.

4th of July

I admit, I was never a huge 4th of July fan until I moved to Marietta. Marietta definitely knows how to do the 4th of July right. Now it is one of my favorite times of the year. We took Autumn to her first parade. We got to hang out with the Brumbaughs and the McIntoshs. We had great seats(thanks Trent!). That night we joined lots of our friends and family for fireworks and dinner in front of the warehouse.

Summer Madness!

So...I survived 2 weeks while Keith was in Mexico. Keith survived 1 week on his own with Autumn while I was on our Road Rules Mission Trip. We survived 3 days at the lake with Keith's staff and families and now Keith is on a guys trips and I am at home. June has been fun! Some highlights over the last few weeks:
1) Autumn's first swim in a lake
2) deciding on a new car seat for Autumn. The choices can be overwhelming!
3) lots of swims in the neighborhood pool
4) our house is for sale - we are hoping to move into Marietta. Pray that someone will want to buy it!
5) shopping trips trying to find deals on clothes for next year.
6) babbling...Autumn babbles so much now. It is so cute. Da-Da is her current favorite. Keith loves it.
7) Attending Mawmaw's(Keith's moms) retirement party.
8) Army crawling - she can get anywhere with her army crawl

Week at Lake George

While Keith took 100+ people to Mexico to build houses, Autumn and I were with my family at Lake George - a state park on the Alabama-Georgia border. We swam, took a pontoon boat out, hung out, played and relaxed. It was a great week. Here are a few pictures.

May has been a busy and great month. Couple of Keith and Amy updates:
1) I have been tutoring like crazy. It has been a blessing to be able to earn income that way. I love still being able to teach and stay home. Now that I have been so busy with tutoring I am looking forward to the summer break.
2) We have taken up bike riding again. I could not ride while pregnant. So it has been a year and a half since we have been able to ride. We have been putting Autumn in Mothers Morning OUt and riding about 20 miles one morning a week.
3) Keith leaves for Mexico in less than a week - 12 days without him! We will miss him!

Autumn updates:
1) Bathtime had become more fun as we have moved into the big tub. Now we have much longer baths

2) Proud of my cousins! Autumn has gotten to attend some big events in the life of her cousins. She went to Taylor and Zachary's soccer game, Brittany and Sydney's art exhibit, and Taylor's graduation. Here are some pictures from some of those events.

3) Playtime...we are really into sitting up on our own, scooting,rolling, and playing with faces. Here are some pictures of some playtime fun.

#1 - the first time at Aunt Lea and Uncle TJ's house

#2 - the first time Autumn was away from me and Keith. She spent the weekend with Keith's parents while we went to the mountains with some friends. She enjoyed the weekend with Mymaw and Papa.
#3 - First time trying baby food - she loves it!

#4 - Lots of times outside on a blanket under the trees or on walks.

Baptism

We had a great Easter with Keith's family. Couple of new developments this week:
1) Autumn rolled over for the first time - Keith and I were both there to witness it.
2) She has a new toy - Her Exersaucer where she loves to bounce
3) All 3 of us enjoyed a day at the park on a blanket soaking in the nice weather.

Next Sunday is Autumn's baptism. Keith is doing it. We are excited to have all of our family there.

Well the last several weeks have been busy. We(Keith, Autumn, and I) all worked Radical Renewal a junior high intown retreat. Then the next weekend we all took off for Autumn's first out of town youth retreat - Ski Trip. We sent to West Virginia for 4 days with 40 senior high youth. It was lots of fun. She was great! Three Month Update

Three Month Updates.
On Monday Autumn was officially three months old - wow how the time has flown by! She is sleeping great through the night. She sleeps around 11 hours every night without getting up! We love that she is such a good sleeper. She loves to coo and yell in the car as we ride anywhere. She loves going for walks in her stroller. She is not a big fan of tummy time - but we do it anyway!

We had an amazing Christmas with Autumn. She went to Moultrie and met her great-grandparents, her Uncle TJ, her Uncle Richard, and her Aunt Patsy for the first time. She survived her first road trip to Moultrie. She slept through most(ok all) of the gift exchanges with my family and Keith's! Having a baby made the true meaning of Christmas even more real and apparent to us - that God would send His Son in the form of a baby!
Autumn has also found her voice! She is making the cutest cooing and yelling noises. She is also giving us the cutest smiles. Her face lights up and she melts your heart.

Some updates on Autumn this week:
1) We had our first big screamfest at 8:00 one night this week... and hour of screaming when nothing could calm her!
2) She took her first bath without crying! She actually started to enjoy it.
3) She started to enjoy the swing for the first time.
4) She went to the service and heard Daddy preach for the first time - she didn't even cry.
5) We have enjoyed walking at the new park in the pretty weather this week.

She is such an awesome baby and so amazing. We love her more every day.

Today Autumn is 3 weeks old! It has been an amazing three weeks. I thought that I would add some commentary to Keith's wonderful pictures. We are all having a great time learning to be parents and learning what it means to be the smallest Gunter! After we got home from the hospital, Keith's parents helped us get settled into our house and helped with tasks around the house. They were awesome.
The 2nd week, my mom came down to spend the week with us and help me adjust to being at home while Keith returned to work. We had a relaxing week and learned that Autumn is quite the snuggler!
This past week, we got to hang out with my sister Lea for 2 days and we got to spend Thanksgiving with Keith's family. It was a wonderful and relaxing week.

Some Highlights into our journey so far:
#1) A child is truly God's greatest blessing. We are amazed by her daily and continually give thanks to God for her in our lives.

#2) Most mornings, Keith takes Autumn downstairs with him to have his "quiet time" when she wakes up. This allow me to sleep a little longer :) and they get to have Daddy/Daughter bonding time.

#3) Autumn loves the mornings. She is usually awake for 2-3 hours in the mornings and we play in our Tiny Love gym and in our Bouncer Seat. She then crashes for the afternoon!

#4) Changing Diapers is a tricky and dangerous job. You must be on your toes at all times!

#5) Craziest Moment so far: We took Autumn out shopping at 5 am on the Friday after Thanksgiving. She was up anyway!

#6) We love visitors. We have been blessed to have so many youth and adults from the church to visit. It always brightens our day. Autumn is already the social butterfly and easily passes from one person to another.

#7) Cutest Comment: (Keith's sister had a baby girl 2 weeks before Autumn, her name is Grace. )
Taylor(Keith's 4 year old nephew) said when we walked in for Thanksgiving:
"Look Baby Grace your best friend is here - Baby Autumn"
